Yeringbery have three different Shiraz clones in the vineyard—PT23, 1654, and ‘100-year-old’ clones—each with a unique flavour profile and ripening pattern. Very low yields in 2022. The grapes were very lightly crushed and fully destemmed. There was no Viognier addition this year, but we included a small amount of frozen Marsanne skins. The wine was pressed after 15 days on skins and then matured in barrel (30% new) for 20 months, with several rackings along the way. With the vines now nearing a quarter of a century old, we are happy with our decision to replant Shiraz, a variety we had originally planted in the 1970s and later removed. A generous and complex nose, laden with blueberry, violet, and white pepper, unfolds with notes of juniper berry and Moroccan spice. The palate—lively, fresh, and elegantly plush—has a wonderfully savoury, almost ferrous structure and a seamless, silky balance

"A medium crimson purple. A gentle wine in '22, you'll find aromas of red and blue fruits together with loads of white pepper, spice, and fresh flowers. There's a little meatiness too, which follows onto the medium-bodied, elegant yet persistent palate.
