Tonic Grenache 2021
The first Tonic Grenache solely from McLaren Vale with fruit from a 90-odd-year-old vineyard in Blewitt Springs, feet firmly in the sand. The Grenache is made using 20% whole bunch and 80% not.
Tannin is certainly at the forefront of this wine, though kept completely in check with fragrant red fruits, cherries soaked in liqueur and an aromatic dried spice lift. There's an almost hazelnut savoury element to the wine and a fine but firm tannic flow-through. It's bright and crunchy throughout and very long in flavour.
