Fruit was sourced from Bendigo and Central Victoria. Dense inky black colour with a deep dark red black hue. Wafting out of the glass are intense aromatics of liquorice and dark plum infused with a combination of smoky vanillin cedar, earth, clove and peppered dried meats. Full in body and richly concentrated the palate is engulfed with black cherry, liquorice and dark plum fruits. Good structure with robust yet well integrated tannins. Dried meat, smoky vanillin cedar, earth and peppered dried herb characters lie underneath. Superb power concluding long, opulent and chewy. 

Super-dense and packed with flavour but with real verve and brightness. Sutton Grange's location in the granite foothills of Mount Alexander is evident here. Granite provides mineral lift and natural balance, which makes an ideal background for a medium-bodied, black/blue-fruited young Syrah.
