Stargazer Palisander Riesling 2022
The fifth release of the Stargazer Palisander Riesling which comes from Sam Connew's Vineyard in the Tea Treee Subregion of Coal River Valley. Planted in 2002, on a mix of brown dermosol on Jurassic dolerite. Hand harvested and then destemmed prior to 8 hours of skin contact. Gently pressed this is then fermented wild in a mix of ceramic and concrete eggs over a period of 6 weeks. This is then left for 10 months on lees in those vessels. Incredibly floral lift with "chavignol-esque" green edges, lemon balm, grapefruit pith and white blossoms, this is a sensationally built Riesling, with textural power and driving acid cut. Excellent release.
