Stargazer Palisander Pinot Noir 2022
The 7th Stargazer Pinot released from the Palisander Vineyard in the Tea Tree subregion of Coal River Valley. The older section of the vineyard planted in 2002 whilst the younger block was planted to a mix of 4 clones in 2017.
Hand harvested over a period of 12 days, 20% whole bunches with the remaining destemmed and retained as whole berries. Cold soaked for 3 days prior to fermentation with wild yeasts. Basket pressed after 10 days on skins - prior to aging in a mix of Francois Freres, Mercurey and Ermitage French oak puncheons, of which 22% were new. Eight months in oak on fine lees prior to blending then six weeks in tank prior to bottling.
