The Sordo winemaking estate traces its roots back to the early years of the twentieth century, when Giuseppe Sordo embarked on the cultivation of vineyards and winemaking in the quaint village of Garbelletto, nestled in the township of Castiglione Falletto in 1912. This historic vineyard, situated in the municipality of Verduno, is renowned as one of the most esteemed and coveted in the region, owing its grand cru status to a unique microclimate that has garnered recognition from both researchers and experts as one of the finest vineyard terrains in the area.
Graphite flint, faint cherry, cranberry, pomegranate, and dried rose petals while a sweet red fruit profile dominates the palate with subtle chamomile and fennel notes. Compact and concentrated but also feels austere and tight. The pedigree and potential are evident, but Monvigliero tends to be something for later.
