SC Pannell Koomilya DC Block Shiraz 2019
A winemaker's vintage with every scrap of experience tested and measured. Lower than average winter rainfall set up for a dry growing season resulting in dramatically reduced yields. In low yield years acidity is generally good setting the resulting wines up for stability and long lives.
The 2019 Koomilya DC Block Shiraz is sourced from a vineyard planted on yellow clay, and the effect on the wine is profound. This is darker and more supple than the GT tasted before it; there's a creamy base that differentiates this wine from the GT, and it is pure and powerful. Coolness 101. Exciting. These Koomilya Block wines (GT, DC and JC) are all made the same way in order to preface and promote the variation and diversity of the sites: handpicked, 20% whole bunches in the wild ferments, low sulphur.
