Now under the stewardship of Robert Chevillon's sons Bertrand and Denis, these passionate pair of vignerons are tireless in their pursuit of the finest expression of Pinot Noir possible. After meticulous care in the vineyards across the year, grapes are hand harvested, sorted and de-stemmed before receiving a cold maceration in vats for 5-6 days and natural fermentation lasting 2-3 weeks. Maturation lasts from 15 to 18 months in a mix of 30% new and 70% second use barrels. Chevillon source their village Nuits-Saint-Georges across a range of sites, mostly from La Charmotte and Au Chouillet, along with smaller parcels in the lieux-dits of Aux Saints Jacques, Les Charmois, Les Maladières, Les Chaliots and Les Brûlées. This is an attractive and supple Nuits village with great concentration for the level.

A more deeply pitched nose offers up its notes of various dark berries, cool earth and a hint of crushed fennel. The rich, delicious and more voluminous medium weight flavors possess notably better depth and persistence if also more evident rusticity. This is a very good Nuits villages and worth considering. Aromas of red berries, orange zest and rose petals introduce the 2021 Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes, a medium-bodied, fleshy and perfumed wine with melting tannins and a saline finish. It's an especially charming, fragrant rendition of this perennially reliable cuvée. 89-91 points William Kelley - Wine Advocate 

Mid crimson, deeper in the middle. Quite a rustic dark fruited nose. A cheerful darkish red fruit on the palate, some tannins, medium length. Doesn’t feel like a cool damp year, but nor quite with the joie de vivre of the finest vintages. Quite persistent. Drink from 2025-2029. 88-90 points Jasper Morris MW - Inside Burgundy
