The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Bousselots 1er Cru has more delineation and freshness compared with the Chaignots, offering well-defined red cherry and strawberry fruit and more transparency. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, fine-boned tannins, good acidity and a vibrant, sorbet-fresh finish. Excellent. (NM) Review Date: 12/2020 92-94 points Vinous

A more restrained and earthier nose displays more discreet oak on the ripe plum, dark cherry and newly turned earth scents. There is a beguiling sense of verve and underlying tension to the reasonably refined flavors that are shaped by firmer tannins on the lingering finish that is a bit less youthfully austere than it usually is. Offering up notes of plums, warm spices, orange rind and raw cocoa, the 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Bousselots is medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with a charming core of fruit and a long, penetrating finish. A touch richer than the Chaignots this year, it will offer a broad drinking window. Bertrand Chevillon reported yields some 50% below average in 2019 but was justly delighted with the quality of the wines. This is another powerful, structured vintage at this address, but the wines are more vibrant than the fine 2018s and more structurally refined, too. As I've written before, this is one of my favorite addresses in all of Burgundy. Old vines, cultivated soils, moderate yields and long fermentations with entirely destemmed grapes are the order of the day at this address, with the Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes seeing some 20% new oak and the premiers crus 30%. Nuits' Tonnellerie Sirugue is the dominant supplier of barrels. (WK) Review Date: 01/2021 91-92 points Wine Advocate
