A highly sought after Cote Rotie from a hallowed site that includes around 3% Viognier co-fermented in the blend. Showcasing the feminine aspect of the Cote Blonde, and of Rostaing's own style, the "freshness and vibrancy" on display in this captivating Syrah is drawn into balance by the use of smaller oak formats, which gently rounds out the linear acidity and fruit power. Impeccably presented for near and medium term drinking, this is strictly allocated and will sell out swiftly.
Slightly more open and expansive (as usual), the 2021 Côte Rôtie Côte Blonde has a beautiful core of black raspberry-like fruits as well as plenty of floral, spicy, gamey nuances. Round, supple, and medium-bodied on the palate, it brings more charm than most in the vintage and is going to be a terrific Côte Rôtie that will shine with just short-term cellaring. 92-94 points Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com
