Patrick Sullivan Black Sands Chardonnay 2023
The fruit comes from the Heywood Vineyard in Henty, Western Victoria, planted in 1990 by Alice and Alistair Taylor. The soils here are full of black volcanic sand layered over white limestone, imbuing the wine with a magical minerality and earthiness. This wine has flavours of lemon rind, marmalade, brioche and marzipan greet on the nose, with aromas of fresh nectarine and aromatic orange blossom leading onto the palate. Full bodied with nicely integrated oak, finishing with flavours of juicy creamed limes and well-structured persistent length.
