Michel Couvreur Sour'hum 12 Year Old Px Cask Rhum 700ml
Made from a high-ester Caribbean rum distilled in 2013, this single cask was aged for 12 years in the humidity of Burgundy cellars, in a former Pedro Ximénez barrel. Unreduced, unfiltered, it has lost nearly 20% of its volume over time—concentrating its essence even more. A radical cuvée, balancing exuberance and oxidative nobility, in the purest spirit of the Couvreur style.
Nose: A striking aromatic intensity with notes of varnish, very ripe exotic fruits (cooked banana, fermented pineapple), prune, resin, wet wood, and dark caramel.
Palate: Very expressive, with a full, enveloping texture. Lively attack with esters, followed by a soft heart of fig, dense molasses, licorice, and sweet coffee. The finish remains saline, vinous, with a touch of bitter cocoa and wax.
