McLaren Vale Distillery Maxwell Mead Cask Single Malt Whisky 700ml
Crafted in collaboration with Maxwell Wines—Australia’s most iconic mead producers—this single cask release was aged for eight years in an ex-bourbon barrel that had previously held Maxwell’s spiced mead. Wet-filled with new make spirit in 2017, the cask has imparted a beautifully rich and layered profile that speaks to both distilling and winemaking heritage.
On the nose, it’s bourbon-esque and inviting, with notes of dark honey, toasted coconut, nougat, and macadamia cream. The palate is smooth and indulgent, offering white chocolate and fresh honey, before giving way to a finish of cut wood, gentle sweetness, and lingering spice.
Bottled at 55% ABV. 180 bottles filled.
