As usual, the 2020 Saint-Aubin Cuvée Luce is a blend of three parcels that differ in vine age, exposition and soil type, making for a complementary cuvée. Revealing aromas of crisp Anjou pear, white flowers, honeysuckle and freshly baked bread, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and precise, with lively acids and a chalky finish. The 2020 Saint-Aubin Village "Luce" comes from three parcels picked on different dates. Matured in 10% new oak, it offers green apples and fresh pear on the nose, plus a touch of melted wax. The palate is vibrant on the entry, delivering a tang of sour lemon, fine depth of flavor and veins of wild peach toward the finish. This is an excellent introduction to the domaine. Three plots of different styles to make a ‘cuvée ronde’. Pale lemon colour with a stricter nose, fresher than the graceful Bourgogne. Such distinction here once again, Damien has been in the top flight for a few years now, and that is evident throughout this range.
