Marc Colin Bourgogne Blanc 2022
Marc Colin was born in 1944 and set up his estate in the late 1970s; together with his wife Michèle, they took over vines from several generations, the Colin and Ponavoy families, some plots have been owned by the family for more than a century. They then cultivated about 6 hectares of vines on the communes of Chassange Montrachet and Saint-Aubin and constantly developed the estate during the 1980s and 1990s.
Today, Caroline and Damien, two of their children, lead this 12-hectare estate and includes 26 appellations in the villages of Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Pulugny-Montrachet and Santenay.
Tasted from a sample taken just before bottling this week. Three plots in Chassagne, Puligny and St-Aubin. Pale lemon colour. A little touch of reduction but with energy in the fruit behind. The St-Aubin component adds the electric fresh backbone, while the other two give a little more body.
