The Savoy vineyard within Anderson valley proves year after year to be an enticing bottling. Located just north of the town of Philo at the base of the hills, this is the cooler part of Anderson Valley. The vines were planted between 1991-1993 on beds of Pinole and Boont loams over Franciscan shale. Four different fermenters were blended to produce this wine, including a 100% whole cluster fermenter. Every lot had a significant depth of concentration, color, and complexity. The wine then ages for roughly 16 months in French oak, 20-25% new.
Aromatically the wine is surprisingly floral, with violets, orange zest, and a hint of sweet cream. On the palate, the wine is rich and spicy, with the promise of a long life ahead thanks to the strong tannic structure.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard comes from vines planted in 1991-1993 at the cooler northern end of the Anderson Valley. It has a medium ruby color and slowly unfurls aromas of raspberry jam, tobacco, conifer, graphite and bergamot. Medium-bodied, powerful and expressive, it has concentrated flavors for its seamless, silty frame. It finishes with latent spicy accents that suggest it has a long life ahead in the cellar.
