Legendario Domingo Guerrero Papalote Mezcal 700ml
Crafted by the Obregón family using the semi-wild Cupreata variety of Maguey (also known as Papalote), harvested at to 8-10 years of age. Other production specs are similar to the rest of Domingo's bottlings - underground roasting, natural fermentation, mechanical milling and double distillation in copper pot stills. Tasters have picked up green, herbaceous flavours, even cucumber, and a pleasant smoky note.
Aromas include mint, green pepper, and sometimes lactic funk. Flavors feature mint, green pepper, and a sweet or sugary note. Some reviewers noted a harsh alcohol presence or heat. Overall impression is somewhat positive, although some found the alcohol overpowering, while others appreciated certain unique qualities.
