The term Potazzine a Montalcino is used to indicate the small lively and colorful birds of the Tuscan countryside,this is why Potazzine often becomes an affectionate name with which grandparents and parents address their little girls. The link with the two potazzine is not only expressed by name, but it can be found in the entire evolution of the winery, which began in 1993 with the birth of the firstborn Viola and an extension of two hectares, in 1996, with the arrival of Sofia, until the 5 hectares registered in Brunello that the Estate boasts today.
The 2022 vintage has given the Toscana Sangiovese a darker and richer profile. Dried black cherries and autumnal spices combine with sage aromas. The wine shows a wonderful inner sweetness and ripe red and blue fruits, while a steely minerality defines the finish. It finishes with a tension on the palate that frames the experience well and leaves a tart blackberry note." Vinous
