A blend of Fiano, Vermentino and a small amount of Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains. From three different vineyards, each variety was crushed and left on skins for between 12-24 hours prior to fermentation to extract flavour and texture, seeing the resulting phenolics as a virtue not a fault, making for a wine driven more by texture than acidity. The dry wine was brought together to mature in a single sandstone amphora on fine lees for 11 months. No fining. 950 bottles made.

The wines tasted from this producer so far are all stylish and interesting, though most of all they drink so well. Apple, green melon, some musky floral notes, lemon, almond, cheese rind, a salty samphire thing. It’s all white fruit, fine chalky texture, a bit savoury and umami, floral mouth-perfume, balanced acidity, pulling a little waxy and saline on a finish of good length, lemon peel in the aftertaste. 48/48/4% fiano/vermentino/muscat blanc à petits grains. Such a quietly thoughtful wine, elaborated with calm maturity. That’s the overarching story of this suite of debut releases – a real sense of purpose, of intent. Green apple, floral nectar, lemon pith, rock pools and sea spray, a piney-mint note, the tenor light and easy but the detail high. So nicely judged, the aromatic muscat contributing without dominating (it easily can), the texture so finely measured in its pithiness and ‘ripe’ acidity. Lovely.”  93 Points - Marcus Ellis, Halliday
