Kilkerran Heavily Peated Cask Strength Single Malt Batch 11
Heavily Peated Kilkerran is released twice per year at cask strength and around 45PPM. Although the maturation can vary, it is typically matured predominantly in Bourbon casks. Batch 12 is matured in 90% with the remainder in Sherry casks.
In typical Kilkerran style, there is a citrus element on the nose with notes of lemon and key lime pie, along with touches of toasted rye bread and peat smoke. There are notes of toasted marshmallows and campfire embers immediately on the palate, with hints of vanilla and custard. The smokiness carries through to the finish, along with a mineral note to round off this dram.
