Island Belle Pinot Noir 2023
In keeping with the cool season and modest crop, Pinot noir grapes, MV6 and 115 clones, were fully mature and hand-picked on 13th April. Forty percent of whole bunches were retained for inclusion in fermentation in open fermenters prior to basket pressing and maturation of the wine in well-seasoned French oak barriques.
The wine has vivid colour and lifted aromas of black cherries and savoury notes. The palate has a creamy texture combining ripe red fruit flavours with gentle tannins and soft, lingering natural acidity.
