Ikawa Flora 2025 Single Malt 700ml
Founded in 2020, Ikawa Distillery is located 1,200 metres above sea level in Shizuoka’s Southern Alps, making it Japan’s highest altitude whisky maker. Surrounded by pristine forest and drawing on soft spring water filtered through ancient soils, Ikawa crafts whisky shaped by its natural environment, using only oak from their parent company’s forest. Their goal is to create a 12 year age statement as their core range, which should happen in the next eight years.
Nose: The nose offers orange blossom, fresh citrus, pear and light vanilla.
Palate: On the palate you get sweet malt, gentle fruit, a little honey and a soft, rounded mouthfeel, with oak in a supporting role rather than dominating.
Finish: The finish is clean and calm, making this a natural choice for people who prefer elegance over power.
