Glantenay Volnay Cru Clos des Chenes 2021
The 2021 Volnay “Clos des Chênes” from Domaine Glantenay is also stunning this year. The wine has a lovely blend of red and black fruit on the nose, wafting from the glass in a mix of red plums, red and black cherries, gamebird, raw cocoa, currant leaf, a touch of violet, just a hint of oak and plenty of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and mineral-driven, with a great core of fruit, lovely focus, tangy acids and a long, complex and ripely tannic finish of superb balance and purity.
