Gentle Folk Scary Gully Chardonnay 2025
Scary Gully has shallow rocky soils and is the highest and coolest of the sites. No overly bold flavours, just a perfect balance between subtle minerality and the hints of lime, fennel seeds and white peach. Its driven, it’s distinct, it’s one of the great sites in the Adelaide Hills and this year lives up to that statement.

Vinification: whole bunches were pressed into to tank for settling overnight before racking off solids to barrel. The wine spent 12 months in French and Austrian oak, 25% new, before racking to tank for three months and bottled.

The most elevated and coldest of the 3 single vineyard Chardonnay releases - routinely chiselled and mineral, absolutely shines in this warm 2025 vintage. All the nerviness of historical releases is still present, but there's an initial immediacy to the fruit straight out the gate, pulpy with white hued orchard fruits. There's a saline undercurrent and poised pithy white grapefruit/tonic bitters edge on the finish that adds pools of complexity, elevating this to one of the great releases of Scary Gully. What is routinely the sleeper pick of the trio is absolutely tip top this vintage! Do not miss!!
