Gentle Folk Piccadilly Pinot Noir 2025

The same vineyard as the Chardonnay in Summertown in the heart of the Piccadilly Valley. This is an impressively powerful Pinot noir from the Adelaide Hills with red fruit, wild strawberries and brambles on the nose leading to a very fine tannin. Its slightly juicier and lighter bodied than the other two Pinot noirs, making it slightly more approachable at this early stage.

Soil: Light loamy clay over sandstone with extensive schist and quartz rocks and rubble

Vinification: 20% whole cluster open top fermentation for two to three weeks followed by 9 months in oak, 20% new, before racking to tank for three months and bottled.

Incredibly lifted and fragrant, just ripe strawberries, peony, pink florals, raspberries with immense spice and this little dusty red earth lick aromatically. This is filigree and fine boned, a gorgeous fruit profile that has so much energy and elegance. It's tight, but not firm, with all of the fruit bound at the front of the palate prior to this phenomenal fanning texture from the mid to the finish - it will need some time to unfurl, but everything here is so beautifully captured. Absolutely pinpoint.
