Gabriel Boudier Fontbonne 1874 Herbal Liqueur 700Ml
Fontbonne 1874 is a premium French herbal liqueur - let's call it a baby Green Chartreuse - produced by Maison Gabriel Boudier in Dijon. The name refers to the year the original house, Maison Fontbonne, was founded; Gabriel Boudier later acquired the company in 1909. Recently "reawakened" by the distillery, Fontbonne 1874 is based on a long-lost secret recipe from the house's founder, Jean Fontbonne.
A complex blend of 26 meticulously selected plants, roots, and spices including tarragon, fennel, pine bud, liquorice, rosemary, cardamom, lavender, elderflower, gentian, basil, cinnamon, thyme, chamomile, sage, bay leaf, caraway, cumin, coriander, maniguette, orange peel, juniper, angelica, iris, lemon peel, and black tea.
It pours a luminous pale green with a powerful aromatic nose of herbs, anise, and spice. The palate is fresh and mint-forward, leading to warm notes of liquorice and cinnamon with a uniquely spicy finish.
