Francois De Givry Auxey Duresses Les Riames 2021
Francois de Givry's Les Riames is a single-vineyard wine from the vineyard of the same name, the smallest Monopole in the Côtes du Beaune at only 0.4712 hectares. The soil is marl (compacted clay containing lime) and limestone (sedimentary rock). Les Riames gets a small and modest amount of barrel. Only 900 bottles of Les Riames are made a year.
A chic and sophisticated aroma. The palate presents itself with a very nice balance. Creamy fondant and fresh, refined acidity are in harmony. A burst of citrus accompanies the minerality, which intensifies as you get closer to the finish. Spicy local notes are also found in the final bouquet. The 2021 has a lot of aging potential and will certainly join the great vintages of white.
