From 4 parcels near Dents de Chien that measure <2 ha. Here the nose is compositionally quite different as it manifests notes of petrol, iodine and a shellfish hint along with plenty of floral nuances. Here is both fine punch and concentration to the sappy and solidly powerful medium-bodied flavors that also exude evident minerality on the impressively persistent and firm finale. A clearer colour and a cleaner nose, both of which are a question of stage rather than the fundamentals. This is clean, pure and attractive, if maybe less characterful, and as François Carillon says, “I have better premiers crus in Puligny, whereas the St-Aubin is a different price point”.
