Domaine Faiveley Clos des Issarts Monopole, Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru 2019
Domaine Faiveley acquired the 1er Cru Clos des Issarts in 2002 after leasing it for over 50 years. This 1.5 acre parcel sits south of the village and directly adjacent to Grand Cru Ruchottes-Chambertin. Soils here are rich in limestone and exposure is east/ northeast.
Grapes are hand harvested and sorted upon arrival at the domaine. Following a 21 day maceration the must undergoes primary fermentation in a combination of stainless steel and wooden vats. The young wines are aged in 70% lightly toasted new oak barrels for 16 to 18 months.
