The refined and beautifully textured medium-bodied flavors possess excellent mid-palate concentration before terminating in a persistent, balanced and dry finale. This is also understated and lovely with the balance and material to reward at least a decade of aging. Drink through 2030+.

The 2020 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a very well-defined bouquet with yellow flowers and mirabelle, dried pineapple, lemon thyme and a touch of almond. The palate is well balanced, quite intense with the power offset by the acidity, very critic with a tang of bitter lemon. The new oak slightly occludes the finish but that will be subsumed with time. Good potential, but chuck it in a cellar for 4-7 years. Drink 2026-2046.

Pale lemon colour, this also is quite discreet though there’s a bit more to it. Lovely racy backbone to this with energy and length. Medium bodied for a grand cru but definitely has the finesse we look for in Bienvenues.
