This is drawn from two great Kiedrich sites: Klosterberg and Sandgrub. Klosterberg is one of the Rheingau’s highest vineyards, where deep, weathered quartzite soils produce some of the village’s most exciting Rieslings. Sandgrub is a vineyard known for wines of great fruit intensity and juicy character. These old vines (average over 40 years) are rooted in sandy loess and loam with some quartz littered throughout. Vinification was entirely in stainless steel with seven months’ maturation on lees.
