Etienne Calsac L'eschappe Belle NV
L’echappee Belle is a non-vintage cuvée, cepage 100% Chardonnay, sourced from the terroirs of the Cote des Blancs, Grande Vallee de la Marne and the Cote de Sezanne on a mix of limestone and clay limestone soils. 2019 base wine with reserve wines, prior to disgorgement in 2021 with a dosage of 3g/L.
It’s delicately poised with tension and precision, yet it’s coiled tenacity carries a lovely weight of white orchard fruit and saline, chalky minerality. With air this white spectrum fruit pops with verve and shows the depth of character Etienne is becoming known for. Certainly one to keep an eye on!
