Domaine Lignier Michelot Gevrey Chambertin Cuvee Bertin 2021
Cuvée Bertin is named after Virgile’s son. Again, this year Virgile has gone for 100% whole bunch. Lignier Michelot's Gevrey Chambertin is made from a blend 3 vineyards, Tres Girard, Les Cognees and Bas Chenevery which lie in the middle of the appellation. This wine is consistently very aromatic and incredibly attractive when young, showing great depth of aromas and remarkable generosity on the palate. A stunning village wine that provides great enjoyment. Pure pleasure and great value.
With 100% whole bunches, the 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin "Cuvee Bertin" has a crisp, tertiary, slightly smoky bouquet that opens gradually, It's always defined by the stems at this stage. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins and black fruit laced with tobacco. A pinch of black pepper, eases off towards a more elegant finish. Moderate lenght. Fine. 88-90 points. Vinous.
