Then the Grand Cru Clos Vougeot where the Domaine boasts 45-year-old vines in the very best part of the Clos at the top and the crowning glory in the treasure chest is undoubtedly the truly majestic Romanée-St-Vivant.

Liqueur like aromas of ripe dark currant are trimmed in hints of earth, pepper and crushed fennel. There is excellent volume and richness to the full-bodied and muscular flavors that exhibit impressive power on the complex, mildly rustic and persistent finale. Destemmed after the drought so as not to stress further. Assembled in tank. Fine mid purple. Another really attractive perfumed nose, they do seem to have hit the picking dates just right at J-J Confuron this year.
