This style seems to play right into the hands at Raphet, a Domaine whose wines are typified by bright and vivid fruit, intoxicating perfumes and just a sense of ethereal beauty. Pair that with the subtle changes seen since Gerard's daughter Marion has been handed the winemaking and viticulture keys, more density and a refinement of tannins to name a few, and you have the perfect storm for what is one of our most loved Burgundy imports.
"An exceptionally pretty, even perfumed, nose wafts from the glass while revealing notes of plum, red currant and a hint of exotic tea. The plump, round and delicious larger-bodied flavors are almost easy-going on the mid-palate yet the balanced and lingering finish tighten up sufficiently to strongly suggest that at least a decade will be necessary to resolve the supporting structure.
