Domaine Dujac Vosne Romanee 1er Beaux Monts 2023

Note: from a parcel of .73 ha on the Flagey side. A cool, airy and elegant nose is comprised by purple fruit, exotic spiced tea and pretty floral wisps. The super-sleek, detailed and mineral-driven middle weight flavors exude evident minerality on the youthfully austere and strikingly persistent finale. A fairly intense ruby purple colour. Class and elegance to the nose, though being quite discreet at the moment. Partly a heady red fruit, partly some darker raspberry behind, a firmer and drier finish, this is not all quite together, and should build from this cautious assessment. The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet that unfolds light touches of finely delineated raspberry, blackcurrant, peony and menthol scents with each swirl. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a mélange of red and black fruit and a liberal sprinkling of black pepper toward the finish from the stems. Very harmonious and quite persistent, this is a very fine Beaux Monts that has a little more elegance than the previous vintage. 93-95 Points; Neal Martin; Vinous

The 2023 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts was still quite primary when I tasted it, unfurling in the glass with aromas of cherries, petals and spices.
