Domaine Cruchandeau Bouzeron 'Massale' Aligote 2022
Scintillating wines from Julien Cruchendeau now based in Chaux in the Hautes Cote above Nuits St Georges.
His fascination with Aligote started in Bouzeron, working for a domain in 2001, learning the nuances of the variety in its championed appellation. From there he crossed paths with Aubert de Villaine of Romanee Conti and Domain de Villaine fame, intrigued with his massale selection planting. In 2003 he setup shop next door to Aubert in Bouzeron, taking a parcel of older vines 270 metres above sea level on white marly soils.
From this vineyard he bottles the superbly powerful Bouzeron ‘Massale’, a wine of classicism and mineral drive – raised in 80% vat to retain freshness and vibrancy.
