The 2021 Volnay Les Brouillards 1er Cru has a pretty red cherry and crushed strawberry-scented bouquet that has a real spring in its step. The palate is well balanced with ripe red fruit, orange rind and an almost briny finish that gets the saliva flowing. Very nuanced and delicious - but must be partnered with food. 90-92 points Vinous
This vineyard survived the frost relatively well. Solid and quite bright crimson. Bright dense fruit, more raspberry, fills the middle of the palate nicely, good acidity and proper persistence. Not the finest vintage of course but very creditable. Lifted finish with some volume. Drink from 2026-2030. 89-92 points Jasper Morris
