Expérimental de Christian Drouin Planteray Clarendon Angels is a limited-edition 16-year-old Calvados Pays d'Auge finished in exceptional Jamaican rum casks. Part of Drouin's highly regarded "Experimental Series", this release marks a unique collaboration between the iconic Normandy Calvados producer and Planteray Rum (formerly Plantation Rum).
This expression bridges the gap between classic French apple brandy and the bold, high-ester "hogo" funk of Jamaican rum.
On the nose, a vibrant blend of dried apple and apricot coupled with tropical notes of ripe banana and sugar cane. Rich, intense and indulgent on the palate. It leads with prominent notes of praline, roasted nuts, dried fruits, and a warming pepperiness. Long and complex finish, balancing the fresh acidity of orchard fruits with the deep, pungent molasses sweetness left behind by the Clarendon rum casks.
