From the famed Montebertotto vineyard - a source plot for the restoration of the Arneis grape after almost losing its identity. First planted in the 1400s, the Arneis variety was almost lost to Northern Italy, along with the University of Turin, Bologna and Bruno Giacosa - 23 clonal biotypes of Arneis were planted in 1977, planted on rootstock to a random distribution, these were then grown and fermented to find the most viable options for the future. This has led to 80% of the regions clonal selections being chosen from the Montebertotto source block.

Since then, Castello di Neive has continued to set the bar for what Arneis can accomplish. Fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve brightness, vibrancy and minerality. Complex on the nose this opens with white florals and clear honey, wood spice and a saline line - this line threading its way as a core of tension through a supple textured mid palate, finishing briny and savoury, full of minerality and energy. An excellent benchmark of Arneis.
