"Ca’ di Press – Press is short for Pressenda – is located at the northern tip of the Perno MGA in Monforte although, geographically, they are closer to Castiglione Falletto. Their first vintage was 2018 with just a single botti of Barolo produced. Talking to our winemaker friends, I kept hearing one name: Ca’ di Press. Fruit is destemmed but not crushed, with natural fermentation in stainless where it stays on skins for 7 days followed by six months aging, bottled unfined and unfiltered. 2000 bottles produced.

Could be the frontrunner for my favourite humble Italian beverage of the year. It's just so bloody moreish and delicious. Incredibly aromatic nose of rosehip and crunchy red apple skin, very perfumed playing on those poppy high red tones you come to expect from Dolcetto, but it's more than simple. Extremely well textured, great shape and classically structured, which many a Dolcetto can miss, this is the perfect accompaniment for those slightly cooler nights on the couch! For lovers of Italian wines this is one not to miss!
