Founded in 1731, Bouchard Pere & Fils is one of the oldest wineries in Burgundy. It has an exceptional winemaking heritage, with plots on the best terroirs of the Côte d'Or. Their centuries-old know-how and constant search for quality allow the production of wines of great finesse and remarkable complexity.
Patiently built up over the years, the Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils vineyard now extends over 130 hectares of vines. With prestigious appellations and exceptional plots, the Bouchard Père & Fils vineyard forms a unique winemaking heritage in Burgundy
"Les Grèves" is located on the Côte de Beaune. East/south-east facing, the soil is loamy-calcareous with a strong presence of gravel, which promotes good drainage. The total area of the appellation is 31.33 hectares, of which 3.48 hectares are in production for the winery. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place in small tanks after total or partial destemming, followed by gentle pressing. The maceration time is between 15 and 20 days, depending on the vintage profile. Aging takes place over 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels, with up to 25% new barrels.
