
Balgownie Black Label Shiraz 2020
This medium to full bodied shiraz combines the powerful fruit flavours of Central Victoria with lovely spicy notes and hints of pepper. A small amount of Viognier co-fermented with the shiraz adds softness. A lovely wine that pairs well with BBQ meats. Traditional open vat and static tank ferment with 2-4 days cold soak prior to ferment commencing. The cap was hand plunged or pumped over up to 3 times daily for 14 days. The wine was pressed to tank and settled prior to being racked to barrel for 10 months aging and then bottling. Oak was 90% French, 5% Hungarian and 5% American with a total of 10% new oak in the mix.
