80% Shiraz 20% Mataro from 4 different blocks on the property. 10 year old and 108 year old Shiraz with 11 year old Mataro plantings at 460m elevation. Destemmed, 80% whole berry, varieties were fermented separately with maceration time between 12 and 27 days. Pressed to stainless for malo and racked to oak (25% new - 700L) for 10 months

This is very good. It’s hazelnutty, bitter chocolate, red fruit, a bit of spice too. Blue fruit, earth, dried herb and orange peel, cola nut, fleshy tannin, peanut and spice, with a bold finish of excellent length. The Mataro adds a bit of X-Factor, and there’s a bit more substance and oomph to this wine over the straight Shiraz. Excellent." 94 points - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

Dark-fruited and savory, showing aromas of blackberries, plums, cured meat, dried herbs and earth. The palate is medium-bodied with firmly framed tannins and bright acidity, showing blueberry compote, graphite and dark cherries. Finely constructed. Drink or hold.
