At the time that it was reracked into its current cask, the age of the youngest spirit in this vatting was 14 years old.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe liquid itself would suggest that there is a high proportion of Islay malt, some well known for producing quite perfumed whiskies from the early-80s to early-90s.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAfter four decades in cask, and some helpful companions, this spirit has been tempered into a very elegantly and light peated, engaging blended scotch whisky. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOfficial Tasting Notes:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNose: Waxed lemons, light, coastal smoke, sea spray, peat bog beneath ancient lavender fields. Plum and nectarines, slightly medicinal. Cream soda, but maybe not the freshest can. Something about French perfume.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePalate: Citrus continues on the mouth part, with notes of orange sherbet, menthol, eucalyptus, spearmint and some salted caramel. Green tea, kiwi skin and olives.
