Evocative, dark baking and wood spice notes intermingle with black cherry, cassis jelly crystals and red florals, so beautifully perfumed and poised. It's a remarkable nose that reminisces of all the beautiful things you see from Burgundy - sweet fruit and black tea. There's so much to enjoy just nosing this wine and all of that gratification is carried on the palate - its supremely textured, elegant and pure with a lovely vibrant energy. Nothing forced and admittedly in a slightly more generous and open knit fashion than the routine SSH bottling. The finish is supple with a lovely brisk freshness that carries and lingers in a beautiful fanning nature. This is savory, leaning more into pomegranate molasses, new leather, cocoa, etc. alongside the rose petals and shaved fennel\/licorice to close. The fruit here is all destemmed, and the tannins feel sleek rather than spicy.
