The 2015 Volnay Caillerets Clos des 60 Ouvrées 1er Cru is tightly coiled at first, yet precise and focused, gradually unfolding to reveal disarming pure dark cherries, Dorset plum and light undergrowth aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with layers of sappy black and red fruit and a fine line of acidity, and quite mineral-driven with a lovely touch of piquancy on the detailed finish. Excellent. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.Score: 92Neal Martin, Vinous Maturity: 2022-2040
