The soils are sandy loam, gravel and quartz over clay. Its altitude and soil structure allow a long, slow ripening season typically generating marked spice and floral characters.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eLate budburst, flowering and a cool autumn combined for a very late vintage. Handpicked 27 April 2023, 95% destemmed, 5% whole bunch. Pressed to French oak (33% new), matured 14 months.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003e1200 bottles produced.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eComing from the coolest site in the Eden Valley, this Syrah has a certain lightness and lift of red fruit. It’s the perfume of red cherry and raspberry, red fig sweetness, and there’s a violet note too. The texture is silky with slate-like tannins and a pink peppercorn mouth aroma in the finish. Very beautiful and lifted wine.
