It's utterly delicious and extremely drinkable with a bit of time in the glass. The source is the Shay's Flat vineyard in Landsborough in the Pyrenees. It spent 12 months in barrel before a further 4 months in tank to tighten it all up. It's on the darker side of Cabernet, with cassis, chocolate and olive notes and some cedar and spice flowing through the palate, which is fine and detailed and not overbearing at all.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDeep, dark purple. Reticent on opening, aeration shows intense sour cherry and cassis, mulberry, lavender and black olive with a sweet mint top note and alluring graphite complexity. A compact and palate opens with time to reveal deep dark berry and cherry fruit, before a rumble of fine-layered tannin and cleansing acidity with a persistent trial of graphite, dark cocoa and Dutch liquorice.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“It’s aromatic and flavoursome, but the wine seems way more about its architecture and precision, with a strong sense of longevity for the wine in tow.
