Matured in 5% new and 95% seasoned French oak hogsheads for 20 months prior to blending and bottling.

This has a slightly darker melange of fruit, very brooding, with that deep bramble, cassis character - feels like leaning to a more blue fruited hue comparative to the red earth of the 2021s. Swathes of spice and soft wood herbs, fresh leather and brick dust with a superb energy. Dark and powerful on the palate, yet lithe and linear with little pops of more coarse red fruit lifting their head above the depth of concentration. It's poised, proper Cabernet and has so much potential ahead of itself. Arguably my wine of the tasting! - 70 Years of Mount Edelstone tasting.

'This is a wine to make you fall in love with Carbernet Sauvignon and its secret weapon: tannin. They arrive in the wine with intent, a conduit for the delivery of intense, concentrated black fruits, dark plums with ripe dark roasting spices layered across earth, leaf, sage and undergrowth. Tannins run long and deep but, gracefully so, contributing elegance to the wine. Beautifully finished and crafted." 97 Points - Jeni Port, The Vintage Journal

'Harmonious and silky in its travel with a core of ripe fruit layered with spice and herbs, fine, sandy tannins and a finish that draws out beautifully. No problem tucking this away in the cellar for an extended period.' 96 Points - Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion

I love how distinctly this wine tastes of cabernet. It’s fresh and boysenberried with redcurrant, blackcurrant, bay leaf, mint and tobacco notes running enthusiastically throughout. It feels ultra young, almost nervy, and includes a green-olive-soaked-in-tonic-water kind of character – I’m tempted to use the word minerally – though it’s all sluiced with cleansing acidity and long, firm-but-silken tannin. There’s ample depth on offer here, and the structure to go with it, but there’s also freshness and energy. It’s terrifically good. 95+ Points - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
